The Case of the Chinese Cemetery
Situated in Victoria/Canada, this first book of a series of three tells the story of a private investigator named Hessfog who tries to find out what happened to the stolen dead body of a Chinese man.
His endeavours will bring him to a pair of thugs, a mysterious Chinese lady, a bone collector, and a Russian girlfriend.
The truth is rarely what it seems in this town…
About the main character: Hessfog PI: Born at the end of the 60’s in the South of Europe, it’s not until the end of the 80’s that Hessfog moved to North Africa, then Casablanca to finally relocate in North America.
He previously had, at 18 years old of age, open his own private investigator agency that he ran up to this very day. His cases brought him to various part of the world.
About the illustrator: Sergio Foglio: is an Illustrator/Photographer who spends his life on the West Coast of North America.
He was born in France, and moved to North America in the early 90’s.
He has been illustrating digitally for the last 14 years, and went back to comic book work in the late 2012.
About the comic: The Case of the Chinese Cemetery: Volume 1 of a series of 3, the book relates the case of a missing Chinese skeleton, and how Hessfog is going to find out what really happens.
As the first book of the series, it introduces many of the main characters, and establishes their inter relations.
It also gives us a taste to come of the uncanny methods used by Hessfog to solve his cases.
The Project: Illustrate the adventures of A.C. Hessfog Private Investigator with a graphic novel using a film noir style.
His cases are filled with intrigues and mystery, and he particularly favoured an uncanny and mystical clientele. His methods are unorthodox.
The first three volumes occur on the West Coast of Canada, in Victoria, Vancouver island.
